A sense of deep knowledge is required at the time of writing a sympathy card in both personal and official loss of some body. Most of the people express unwillingness at composing a condolence message which is definitely clear from their message. Here are some tips for writing appropriate condolence card to friends, family members, co-workers and business associates.

The general rule of writing a condolence text is keep sympathy and mourning messages short and simple. Some commonly used expressions in condolence messages include:

  • Our prayers and thought are with you
  • Our deepest sympathy
  • With heartfelt condolence
  • Please accept my deep condolence
  • I am sorry for repairable loss and so on

In today’s computerized world some of the people are using Email cards as a substitute to the traditional condolences cards. Some are of the view that hand written cards or letters on personal stationery are best way to express the inner feelings. The cards should be selected with great care to express deep condolence. Comical or funny cards are not suggested in any case as mourning cards. Better to use blue or black pen to write on the card and handwrite the address on the mailing envelope, in place of using printer or type writer.

Some times with the death of a friend or family become over sensitive, so it is better to select the wordings of the cards that does not hurt to those already heart broken. Keep the messages small and plain expressing the deep concern.
