Who doesn’t like to initiate the celebrations to announce a birth in the family in an exclusive way? The very information cards or invites can be given a different personality if you involve yourself with designing them.

In fact, custom notecards can best be designed by the new parent himself/herself. Of course it needs some friendlier terms with the computer and printer at home. If you have developed them, even if you don’t happen to be a software wizard, easy to follow guidance on the net is at your fingertips! Else, a close relative or friend who you find has a greater flair can be entrusted this job.

After a card to your liking has been produced, just save it on your computer hard disk as a Photoshop PSD file. Get on with your other ideas and produce some two-three cards, similarly saving each one. The cards so created can be saved as TIFF files too depending on which of these your system supports.

When you save the cards so designed on the suggested files, the ‘layers’ of the designing are preserved. This allows the notecard layout to be preserved as a ‘template’ before the chosen image and the text part are introduced. The short listed custom notecards can now be reviewed to produce the final. If need be, this way you still have the option of modifying the layout or effecting any change in the image or the text after giving the finalized design one last look.

If you produce your design in none of the standard sizes of paper, you will need to procure paper of the customized size. Who wouldn’t note the exclusive design of unusual size you have given to the card!
